To protect faux suede against stains and water, invest in a silicone-based waterproof spray. Be sure to apply it liberally before using the piece of furniture, clothing, or shoes for the first time.

Yes. Suede is more stain-resistant than faux suede and it is also easier to clean. This makes it an excellent fabric for upholstering, apparel, and footwear. Our own faux suede is treated with a fluorocarbon finish to enhance the fabric’s stain resistant and water resistant properties.

Faux suede is composed of synthetic materials such as polyurethane, polyester, and polyvinyl, which do not absorb water since they are synthetic and non-porous. For added protection, our own faux suede is treated with a second layer of water and stain resistant (fluorocarbon) coating.
